Hi Scott: I have also been looking at bringing a used tractor across the border into NY State. From what I have been told by two different Canadian dealers, it is simply a matter of paying some $65 dollars for a broker to handle the paperwork. I haven't done it, so I can't say if there is indeed more to it or tell you if it worked. However, if the right machine shows up (Zetor 3340, 4340, or 5245) in the right condition for the right price, I'll let you know how it goes!

While talking about conduit...what's the difference between schedule 40 PVC pipe used for plumbing and schedule 80 used for PVC conduit? I assume it is a thickness/strength issue. I have not seen the schedule 80 PVC in diameters larger than 2". Is it available? Thanks.

For those who don't know, like me, what is a power rake? What does it do? Will
it take the top few inches of dirt, chop it up, screen out the stones/clumps, then lay down a nice few inches of level, loosely packed dirt? I have an acre clearing in the woods which I have been mowing down. It is primarily golden rod and other weeds...very little grass. One of these days it will become the back yard...once I build the house. I been wondering how to plant this.

Hi Murf: I assume that a shaft runs the length of your tractor and a PTO extrudes from the front? How about lifting and mounting to a 3PT implement on the front? Can you mount a blower in front using your rear-to-front PTO and lift the blower with loader arms (and weld brackets on the blower to attach)? I guess the linkage from the PTO to the implement is flexible so lowering and raising the blower is then possible...just like on the 3PT. As long as you don't lift to far, I guess you are OK. I guess you just need the rear to front shaft to be the right length to clear your tractor length. Seems like is has to be pretty close to perfect to get the linkage shaft and the loader mount working together.

Greetings All: I'm considering purchasing a used 5245 Zetor with a cab. Does anyone know if a 3PT backhoe can be mounted on this machine with no problem...especially since a cab is present? The Zetor also has an Allied front end loader. Seems to me this could get in the way of any kind of a subframe mounting backhoe. Dealer estimates are welcome. Any comments regarding a 5245 Zetor are also welcome. Thanks much, Bruce.

Greetings All: There apparently is a dealer in Williamstown, NY (just south of Lake Ontario) that has a number of ag tractors for sale reasonably priced. Does anyone know anything about this dealer? Experience? I have seen several classified ads from the same phone number. Before I make the few hour trip, just trying to get an idea of what to expect. Thanks much.
